Homemade Museli

Why?

  • Antimicrobial and antibacterial properties with coconut oil and honey

Ingredients:

  • 4 Cups old-fashioned rolled oats

  • 1/2 Cup sunflower seeds

  • 1/2 Cup shredded coconut

  • 1 1/2 Cups chopped nuts

  • 1/2 Cups sesame seeds

  • 1/2 Cup buckwheat

  • 1/4 Cup flax seeds

  • 2/3 Cup coconut oil

  • 1/2 Cup water

  • 1/2 Cup honey

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence

  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

How to prepare

  1. Preheat oven to 150C.

  2. Melt coconut oil and when cooled, mix in water, honey and vanilla essence.

  3. Cut up nuts in a food processor.

  4. Mix all dry ingredients including chopped nuts

  5. Pour liquid into dry mix and mix

  6. Lay out on baking paper on roasting trays and bake

  7. Stir every 15mins or so until golden brown

  8. Let cool and then place in air tight containers

I sometimes add cinnamon to the mix as well. Great with coconut yoghurt or some fruit compote.
